Watering Tips |

When setting your sprinkler timer, or manual watering, please keep the following in mind. Early morning watering is the best; night watering promotes fungus and other diseases. Deeper watering fewer days a week promotes healthy deep root growth; everyday short watering can germinate weeds and promote unhealthy shallow root growth. Watering the day after your service day will help water in fertilizer and reduce burn. Too much water can be more harmful than not enough water. Please do not water on your service day. We usually set timers to water 1 day a week in March, 2 days a week in April & May, 3 days a week in June, July & August, and back to 2 days a week in September & October, 1 day a week in November, and off December through February. Using multiple start times such as 4am, 5:30am, & 7am for about 7 minutes (18 minutes if rotational sprinkler head) per station will yield minimal runoff and evaporation while supplying enough water for proper growth. This is just a guide, all lawns are different and may take more or less water depending on your soil or landscape design.
